Cooperation

UGD has built partnerships with institutions around the world, cooperation contracts with universities from various countries and continents, and international educational programmes and training projects, which aim to provide the students with maximum opportunities to gain international experience in their studies.

Furthermore, since its establishment, UGD has been cooperating with the business sector and the industry through which it transfers practical experiences from the daily work to to the students. Moreover, each faculty has its own partners in the field it specialises and the full list of cooperators includes approximately 70 institutions and companies.

International cooperation

These partnerships enable the students and the employees to participate in various programmes, projects and trainings that are conducted by foreign universities and in this way they gain valuable knowledge and experience by following other examples and to later apply it into their own education and career.

UGD is a university with the highest number of inter-institutional agreements (over 400) in North Macedonia; during one academic year the University conducts an exchange of more than 50 foreign students and 100 employees as visiting staff.

Erasmus plus

UGD has sucessfully realized the programme Erasmus + for many years. Erasmus plus is a project of the European union for higher education that enables the cooperation and the exchange of students and staff between the partner-universities in Europe.

The programme is applicable for all regular students at UGD who have finished at least 2 semesters of their studies, have a satisfactory grades and have a knowledge of the English language.

The student exchange can be ralized in one of the partner-universities whose complete list can be found here, and the exchange can be realized for a period of 6 or 12 months.

Cooperation with organizations and companies

Since its origin, UGD has tightly cooperated with other related institutions, the private sector and the industry as part of the quintuple Helix system, where the main pillar is the knowledge.

The private sector as the other members of the system are incorporated in continuity both during the work with the students as well as during the life-long learning of the personnel.

Large number of the representatives from the private sector are present on the lectures as visiting lectures on the so called clinic lessons, in mutual projects, mutual researches, conferences, forums, organized study visits in their facilities (such as factories, laboratories, public institutions etc.), representations at employment fairs where part of them also offer training opportunities for the students.
